What happens to your audio

Decoding, editing, mixing, recording, and MP3 encoding happen inside your browser tab. Your files are never uploaded. Close the tab and nothing from the session remains on Tapecut's server. Saved project files and browser autosaves stay on your device.

What we don't collect

• No accounts — there is no sign-up.
• No analytics or tracking scripts — Tapecut does not track editor activity.
• No cookies — Tapecut does not use cookies.
• No third-party requests — fonts and code are served directly from this site.

Microphone access

The Record button asks your browser for microphone permission. The recording stays on your device like any other clip, and the microphone is released the moment you stop recording. You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser's site settings.

Server logs

Like most websites, the server that delivers Tapecut's page files may keep standard access logs (IP address, time, requested page) for security and troubleshooting. These logs do not contain your audio because audio files are not uploaded.
